The Covid-19 pandemic and consequent national lockdown has, and will continue to severely impact business, the economy, and the population as a whole.

Although there continues to be much uncertainty as to what the country, the economy and business will look like after the lockdown has been lifted, albeit partially, on 1 May, one thing is certain - we will emerge into a very different world - one for which we need to start preparing for today, if we haven't already done so.

Employers will not be able to return to ‘business as usual’, or as I refer to it, 'business unusual' at the stroke of midnight on the 30 April. Rather, employers will have to take some difficult decisions to reinvent their business going forward.

This will necessitate the implementation of ‘new norm’ business strategies, ‘new norm’ HR & IR strategies and policies, and revised Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.

It is strongly recommended that employers start contemplating and implementing the necessary measures to deal with these inevitable HR & IR issues sooner rather than later.

The change management processes involved in, inter alia, changing terms and conditions of employment and, in worse case scenarios, retrenchment processes, requires requisite skills, competencies and subject matter knowledge and expertise. Dynamix HR Solutions is well positioned to provide your business with this expertise.

Be safe, be healthy, and remain optimistic. We will get through this, together!
